  • Heemeyer's Mountain View Muffler Oversized Heavyweight Sweatshirt

    30-day returns · Guaranteed since 2003

If you've spent any time on the internet over the last twenty years, chances are you've heard of Killdozer.

If not, here's the short version.

Marvin Heemeyer owned Mountain View Muffler, a small welding and muffler shop in Granby, Colorado. After years of disputes with local officials, zoning decisions, and neighboring businesses, he became convinced he'd exhausted every peaceful way of being heard.

So he disappeared into his workshop.

For months, Heemeyer transformed a Komatsu D355A bulldozer into one of the most infamous machines in modern American history. On June 4, 2004, he drove it through Granby, demolishing buildings connected to the people and institutions he believed had wronged him. The rampage ended only after the bulldozer became trapped in the basement of a building, where Heemeyer took his own life.

The facts of the story are well documented.

What they mean is still debated.

More than twenty years later, documentaries, books, podcasts, YouTube channels, and countless internet arguments continue to revisit the Killdozer story. Some see a warning. Others see a symbol of resistance against local government overreach. Most people fall somewhere in between.

Whatever your opinion, Killdozer has become part of modern American folklore. It's one of those stories people seem to rediscover every few years, and every time they do, the debate starts all over again.
