Liberty Maniacs Environmental Impact

Liberty Maniacs designs and produces its gear with one goal in mind. We make freedom-loving merchandise without trashing the planet. Our shirts are printed with water-based inks that are among the most environmentally neutral in the world, and nearly every piece of packaging we use is recyclable or biodegradable. Liberty Maniacs believes in leaving the world freer and cleaner than we found it.

Why we do it different

I grew up on the prairies of southern Wisconsin, where my dad made sure I understood the importance of taking care of the land. I remember being the only little kid at conservation fundraisers, watching neighbors pull together to protect wetlands and wildlife. I also remember the look he gave me when I left a pile of junk in the woods after bowhunting. That look stayed with me, along with a choice word or two.

Now I live in Minnesota with my family. This state has more lakes than any other in the country, so water conservation is part of life here. When I learned how much damage the garment industry does to water systems worldwide, it stopped me cold. The truth is ugly. The water used and polluted in conventional dyeing and textile printing could fill the Mediterranean Sea every two years.

That reality shaped how we built Liberty Maniacs. From the start we decided that making merchandise should never mean wrecking rivers or dumping chemicals where people fish and kids swim.

Printing That Doesn’t Poison

We use water-based inks that are certified non-toxic and among the most eco-friendly available. They do not leave heavy metals, PVC, or phthalates behind, and they do not require harsh chemicals for cleanup. These inks also last longer on fabric, which means fewer shirts end up in landfills because the design faded after two washes.

Local Where It Counts

Most of our products are designed in Minnesota and made in North America. International orders are produced in Europe to cut shipping distance and waste. This keeps our footprint lighter and supports responsible production.

Better by Default

We do not scream “eco-friendly” on every product because we believe it should be the baseline, not a marketing gimmick. Our cotton shirts are sustainably sourced. Our inks are safe. Our waste is minimal. We prefer to do the work rather than write hollow mission statements.
