  • Libertas Goddess Liberty Maniacs T-Shirt

Dan McCall's original design of Libertas, the Roman goddess and symbol of liberty, laid the foundation for iconic figures like the Statue of Liberty and graced numerous state seals and capitol statues.

In this powerful depiction, Libertas wields the Constitution in her right hand, emphasizing her unwavering commitment to defending the principles of freedom. Her left hand holds her traditional spear, poised to strike against any encroaching tyranny.

The familiar hat atop her head, known as a pileus, was once worn by Roman slaves upon gaining their freedom, a symbol of hope and emancipation. A vigilant rattlesnake at her feet symbolizes the ever-present defense of Libertas against those who seek to harm liberty. This rattlesnake addition harks back to the early days of the Republic, even though it has faded from many depictions of Libertas over time.
