From the Designer: The Milton Glaser 1966 poster of Bob Dylan with kaleidoscopic hair is of the 20th Century's most iconic. If you bought Dylan's `67 Greatest Hits album, you actually got one of these folded inside the cover. (If you kept it in good condition, it's worth a lot.) Interestingly enough, this was one of the first poster designs Glaser even did. Pretty good start to a legendary career.

One of Milton's signed posters sits in our office. Dylan was from Minnesota, like myself, and actually dated the mother of my best friend's girlfriend growing up. I remember his son would come and play shows at my college, and Bob would come watch. In any event, everyday I look at this poster of rainbow tresses sipping my coffee, always thinking it would be fun to do a version of this with someone else. But I couldn't think of a subject that would fit.

Then came Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign. Good lord, I thought, this! A fellow New Yorker to Glaser, I thought it would be funny to make and send along to him just for kicks. Trump fascinated me in a way. Not because I really even paid attention to what he said - he didn't even list his stance on any issues on his website, after all - but because he so completely drove the other candidate crazy.

The irony of the 16 or so GOP candidates with no chance of actually getting into the White House calling into question the seriousness of Donald Trump candidacy was simply hilarious. Love him or hate him, he was a blast to watch. Especially if you've already written off the process as silly political theater in the first place.

And the hair! After making the We Shall Overcomb shirts and posters, I knew people wanted more. If there was a more perfect subject for a Milton Glaser rainbow hair redux, I have no idea who it is.

So with great love and apologies to the master Glaser, I give you Donald Trump in his hirsute, psychedelic glory.
