We remade The Apotheosis of Franklin, a toile pattern from the early republic, as crisp black-and-white wearable history. The original was printed in England around 1785 for the American market. Washington drives a leopard-drawn chariot. Franklin keeps company with Liberty. Apparently, winning independence called for something a little more ambitious than stripes.
Once a design for bed curtains and furnishings, now a bandana for your neck, hair, or four-legged sidekick. A little founding-era swagger for history buffs and very good dogs with revolutionary tendencies.
