We’ve recreated The Apotheosis of Franklin, a textile pattern from around 1785, for a pajama top with a beautiful story. Originally used for curtains and bed coverings in early American homes, the design celebrated the young republic through elaborate scenes of Franklin, Washington, and Liberty.
Look closely: Washington drives a leopard-drawn chariot, and Franklin stands beside Liberty beneath “Where Liberty Dwells There Is My Country.” Early American decorating was anything but timid.
