One day it occurred to me that my home state of Minnesota must be the nerdiest place in the entire world. Not only was fantasy football invented here by two guys in the Twin Cities named Cliff Charpentier and Tom Kane, but less than a decade earlier in 1974 Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson created Dungeons & Dragons here as well.
Maybe it's all the time we spend indoors, but since I was a kid both D&D or FFB were a pretty constant staple of most dudes I knew. Now they're both bigger than ever, of course. But back then before the internet, it was all pencil and paper, calling your lineups in, and tabulating hit points and extra points by the calculator.
This is an homage to the silly but pretty awesome world of fantasy football and roleplaying all born in my home state. You betcha.
