Some units earned cool names. The 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment earned one the hard way. German troops in Normandy started calling them Teufel in roten Hosen after getting torn up by paratroopers in bright red jump trousers. “Red Devils” stuck, and so did their reputation.
The emblem on this hoodie is their wartime mark: a grinning skull beneath a parachute canopy, flanked by bat-wing shadow shapes that look exactly like something you’d paint on your A-frame before jumping into a hornet’s nest. It’s one of the unmistakable WWII Airborne symbols, worn by a regiment that dropped into Normandy, fought through the Bulge, and made their bones long before “airborne” was a brand.
