Jefferson put that in a letter to John Taylor. In the same breath, he condemned passing public spending on to future generations as “swindling futurity on a large scale.” He had a fairly low tolerance for financial wizardry at other people’s expense.
That skepticism still has a constituency. If Ron Paul’s warnings about central banking and fiat currency struck a chord, consider this something from the earlier reading list.
Our original design gives Jefferson’s warning the broadside treatment, with distressed serif lettering, a cannon illustration, and his reproduced signature. Printed on a substantial, garment-dyed heavyweight tee with a relaxed fit.
Ideal attire for explaining, once again, that printing money and creating wealth are two different activities.
