Pyramid. All-seeing eye. The whole planet underneath. Scientia Est Potentia. Knowledge is power. The first clumsy, official logo for a Fourth Amendment-trashing dragnet: search everything, pattern-match everyone, hoover the data agencies could “legally access,” and pretend that wasn’t a federal database on the public.
Congress “killed” TIA in 2003. Unfunded the name. Relocated the work. The press moved on. Anyone who thought the program actually died was not paying attention.
By 2013 Edward Snowden showed the NSA had the derived machinery running at industrial scale. Same hunger. Better cover. Longer memory.
